Update for Flying L POA Trash Service

Trash/Dumpster fees are being billed quarterly starting from June–August 31. The next billing is for the 4th quarter.

The Flying L POA will assume operations of the community trash service as of May 30th, 2026.

The dumpsters will be relocated from the current location on the Flying L PUD lot to an adjoining lot next to the current location.

There will be 6 regular dumpster containers; of these, 2 will have side windows to assist with easier disposal for our seniors and more physically restricted community members. We ask that all those who are able to please use the other 4 dumpsters so that our more fragile members have the ability to dispose of their trash.

As of 6-5-2026 there will be a 30 yard open-top dumpster available for bulk trash. This will be a limited time service.

There will be disposal assistance service at the dumpster site on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am to 12:00pm to assist with dumping of your trash. This service is there to help our senior and fragile community members.

There may be times when service will not be available. We will make every attempt to keep the community posted on those dates.

Notice to Flying L POA Community Homeowners

The Flying L POA is sending out a notice for the billing of dumpsters. You will receive or have received a notice of billing for 3 months: June, July, and August.

We were blocked by the Flying L PUD from being able to continue the billing with the water bill from Yancey, so we had to make an adjustment, and this is the most reasonable way to not overburden the homeowners, as we all know the water bill has increased a great amount since last year. The POA has no control over water rates or decisions that are made by the Flying L PUD.

We took over the dumpster service on June 1st, so any questions you have for billing before June need to be addressed by the Flying L PUD.

We are keeping the rate at $20.00 per month, so that will be a billing of $60.00 for the 3 months. There will be a $2.00 convenience fee for paying online. The fee is not due if you mail a check or drop it in the Flying L POA drop box.

We intended to send out an email to communicate with the Flying L POA homeowners as well.

The ADA dumpsters have been very beneficial to the elderly in the community. We also took the step to supply open-top dumpsters for the community to dispose of bulk items — so much that we went and ordered an additional dumpster rather than the 2 we committed to.

We plan to have the open-top dumpsters again to help the community dispose of bulk items later this year or during the holiday season.

The presence of a helper at the dumpsters from 10:30am to 12:00pm on most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays has helped community members with placing the trash in the dumpsters. We have been told it has been greatly appreciated.

In conclusion, we will use the funds paid for the dumpster service strictly for future dumpster service and expenditures.
